‘Pick from Yan’s Kitchen’s daily menu to savour another delight of pretty Port Charlotte.’ – The Scotsman
Yan’s Kitchen is a lively popular eatery nestled in the charming village of Port Charlotte. A former croft kitchen which enjoys spectacular views over Loch Indaal, where dolphins can occasionally be spotted, we offer a diverse cuisine with a modern twist, including tapas, seafood, Scottish fusion and a range of daily specials.
Given very positive response by our visitors from around the world, and with a regular local clientele, we put our popularity down to our helpful and enthusiastic staff and our top-quality locally sourced fresh food.
Our seafood is supplied by local fishermen, including Islay-landed lobster, langoustines and scallops, and our beef, lamb and venison all come from Argyll farmers. We use Islay’s Community Garden for fruit and vegetables when we can. We also offer a range of local ales from our fully licensed bar, along with a selection of international wines and, of course, Islay whiskies.
Not far from Bruichladdich distillery, we are perfectly located near to the Museum of Islay Life and Islay’s Natural History Centre for a lunch break as you visit Port Charlotte, or a hearty dinner at the end of a busy day. Whatever brings you to Islay – whether it’s whisky, music festivals, birdwatching, walking, cycling or sea life – we look forward to seeing you at Yan’s Kitchen!
Families are always welcome and we have an indoor play area to keep the little ones occupied while you enjoy your meal. We also have an outdoor seating area for taking in the view on a sunny day, and plenty of parking. Wheelchair access is also provided. Because we get busy, booking is recommended during the summer months.
